The spacious furnished balcony offers sunrise and sunset views. The covered lakefront veranda offers a firewall and private dock. A TIMELESS LEGACY
Where History Meets Modern Luxury
Since 1886, the BoatHouse Villa has been at the heart of Gun Lake. Originally built in 1886, the BoatHouse Villa was used as a residential lake house for over a decade until it was sold in 1896 to the Kalamazoo Gun Lake Club. The Gun Club used the building as a member clubhouse for another decade until the group sold the property to a member, Henry Badger, in 1906. At that time, the BoatHouse Villa became known as "Badger's BoatHouse," even after Henry's death in 1918.
Badger's BoatHouse stood empty for over 30 years after Henry's death until it was officially purchased by the Michigan Synod of United Lutheran Church of America in 1948. The church operated the BoatHouse as a summer camp for 15 years. After that, the BoatHouse went through a series of owners who used the property as a secondary summer home. It wasn't until the Powers family, the owners of Bay Pointe, purchased the property in 2013, that the home could start renovations. Since then, Bay Pointe has meticulously restored the BoatHouse Villa to its original grandeur, creating a timeless retreat where new lakeside memories are made every day.
